JIENAT RELEASES NEW HI-DEF DISC MIRA

Jienat is proud to present the new disc Mira. 
It is apparently the first release outside the classical vein to be recorded in high definition true 5.1 surround sound (corrections welcomed!).
It is also one of the ten first releases worldwide on the Pure Audio Blu-Ray format.

The disc is sold as a twin-pack – one CD/SA-CD that will play in all regular CD players as well as providing 5.1 surround in SA-CD players, and one Blu-Ray disc. The Blu-Ray have two options: Stereo or 5.1 Surround. Both are in 96KHz/24 bit resolution.

The recording is a result of the amazing consequences of technical progress--- the possibility to do no-excuses recordings anywhere there is a room or space that feels good to the performer. This is due to two factors: the development of high-end compact equipment, and the democratizing price drop of such. 

The bulk of the recording has taken place in the small Arctic town of Hammerfest, Norway, less than 20 lines of latitude from the North Pole. Somedays, we would find a Russian trawler docked in the harbour across the street, and we would have to postpone the recording of particulary quiet passages. The trawler generators would hum away at a steady 134,5 Hz. Also, we would have to wait if there was an ambulance airplaine taking off from the airstrip. The Beech 200 is one noisy propeller aircraft..
